Beautiful Tenby – and a Beautiful Sunday Lunch too!

Tenby has already found a special place in our hearts, from special days out together early in our relationship, to helping our hearts heal after we lost our little dog Honey.  It’s always somewhere we are happy to drive to for a day out, and even if the occasion isn’t special, it’s always a special day.

Yesterday was one of those days.  Having arrived with our french bulldog puppy Meg in search of sunshine, the unexpected rain started and, as I’m recovering from a long chest illness, we looked for refuge and stood beneath the shelter over the front of the lovely On George’s.  In so doing, we spotted their very tempting Sunday Lunch menu for £16.95 and immediately booked a table.

I am very glad we did, because the food and service was exceptional – and we’ve now found a new special place to visit for food.

Generous Portions of Delicious Food – Just like Mum Used to Make

Their Sunday lunch was delicious, I had a classic beef roast, whilst my other half paid a little extra to have a mix of all meats – and a very generous portion of each it was too.  The beef was perfectly tender, but the the generous mix of veg was also full of flavour – there was also a lovely large yorkshire pudding and a decent amount of crispy roasties (an absolute joy as it’s always my favourite part of a roast!).

It goes without saying there was plenty of everything, including a delicious jug of real gravy – real proper home-cooked food, just like Mum used to make.

All in all, we couldn’t fault anything, and we’d love to give them our highest recommendation for a delicious Sunday Lunch.  They also offered home made desserts – but we were already stuffed!  Honestly, in a world of chain pubs, so few places offer real food these days it’s always a delight to find somewhere independent and good, with friendly service, a warm welcome and dog friendly too.

So, if you, like us, tend to visit Tenby on a Sunday or bank holiday, and plan to eat, it’s definitely worth booking a table in advance – you can call 01834 842373 to do that.

Our first visit – and it won’t be our last.

Thank you On George’s!
